Steve Horan
Steve Horan studied photography in Toronto and the U.S. and has worked in many aspects of the art. The People of Yellowstone project unites his passion for community and its connection to the natural world.
He spent five years crisscrossing three states to find collaborative subjects for this book.
Steve has had many gallery exhibitions of his work in North America. This book has been recognized by a grant from the prestigious Turner Foundation.

Ruth W. Crocker
Ruth W. Crocker is the author of the award‑winning memoir, Those Who Remain: Remembrance and Reunion After War. Her work has appeared in The Gettysburg Review, O-Dark-Thirty Magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, and T.A.P.S. Magazine in addition to anthologies of creative nonfiction and many trade magazines. Her essays have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and listed in Best American Essays. She teaches writing at Riverlight Wellness Center in Stonington, Connecticut and throughout the U.S.
Ruth was introduced to Yellowstone by her brother, Ranger Bob Whipple. She says, “Bob’s passion for Yellowstone was contagious. After hearing his descriptions, I had to see the place for myself and discover the stories of others who love the park.”
